A Little About Me
I am a highly motivated yoga instructor currently teaching in Chesham at the Town Hall. I hold a certificate in Baptiste Power Yoga, pranayama, myofascial release and its application to yoga, theming and chair yoga.
​
I found yoga fairly late in life when I was going through a particularly rough patch and it quite literally saved me. As I progressed along my yoga journey the benefits just kept coming and it gave me a renewed and heightened zest for life and focus I had never had before. I decided then that I wanted to bring yoga to other people in the hope that they too would benefit from yoga as I have.
The first part of this year's class themes followed the yamas (restraints) and niyamas (observances). I like to start the year with these as they are the first steps in the eight limbs of yoga and it always feels a good place to begin.
I combined the philosophical themes each week and then, once we'd been through all 10, combined them altogether for a couple of classes.
Physically, we also played with a splits class, baby grasshopper and the last one before easter, I switched to a 'fun' theme and we played with a wall handstand.
Over the coming weeks, themes will range from philosophical (I'm super pleased with a chakra routine I've put together) and again more physical pose focuses, including yogi squat and wheel, incorporating some myofacial release techniques to get the most out of them.
